Crawling out of knowledge into…
Once there was a great courtyard. A master looked upon his people (who were oh so eager to obey) and his eyes laid sight of a creature. Laying upon the ground, she had not yet breathed. She knew naught of the sun or the sky or the earth, but she knew about people. And she knew about words. So she lay silent, afraid of what she knew. She wore her hair loose, a sign of both vulnerability and some powerful madness that lay within her. The master watched her as she lay and slowly she stood up, not of her own will, and began to speak.
The words she spoke were not for anyone but her master. The people around thought it madness, but he found sanity in her. And he sent her away, to talk for the court. The fool of men. The jester in a mask. And wherever she went, they thought her mad, until she herself percieved sanity differently… in their sense. And she told herself, If this is sanity, I must surely not be sane. But if I am taught this sanity, they will accept me and I will become a part of them. Therefore, I must fool sanity so I appear, not to be invisible, but untamable… so they will not try to take me. And come what may, I must speak out. So that they may be bold too and dare to fool sanity themselves.
